A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Bellevue, Washington area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local veteran of the United States Navy. Along with a donation, the Fairway branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.
Fairway and AWI presented veteran Joe Vaifauna with a service dog. Joe lost a significant percentage of his hearing as a result of his time in the armed forces and desperately needed a service dog to help him regain confidence and security inside and outside of his home. Fairway and AWI came together to fully sponsor Joe’s pairing with “Pepper,” a two-year-old English Labrador Retriever that will assist Joe in his everyday life.
With Pepper by his side, Joe will be able to go places that he otherwise couldn’t go and do things he otherwise couldn’t do.
“I can attend sporting events again!” Joe said, his voice full of excitement.
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.Tags: Veterans
